Things No One Wants to Talk About..... (Just Trying to Figure it Out)
No one wants to talk about how we’re all just trying to figure it out, even as we present a version of ourselves that’s got it all together. Behind the polished social media profiles, the perfectly curated lives are the constant undercurrent of uncertainty. We pretend like everyone else has it figured out—how to love, how to succeed, how to be happy—but the truth is, most of us are just hoping we don’t get caught. We don’t talk about the anxiety that comes with trying to meet expectations, either our own or others or the pressure to succeed when we don’t even know what success means for us anymore.
No one talks about how exhausting it is to carry the weight of other people’s needs, to always be the one offering support, yet feeling like you have nowhere to turn when you need it. The loneliness that comes with being the strong one, the go-to person, while silently wishing someone would notice that you, too, need to be cared for. We avoid these conversations because they expose the cracks in our carefully constructed facades, and it's easier to pretend we have it all figured out, even when we don’t.
